This is the second year of the event and will include this year an 80km women’s recreational field starting from Apiti at 8.30am.
The 160km Men’s Elite race will start from Palmerston North at 10.30am and has cash prizes. Training grants of $12,500 are also up for grabs.
There is also an innovative new age based handicap prize where recreational riders time will have a formula applied to see who rides the course the fastest. A trip for 2 to Raratonga is the winners prize in this category.
