Last week-end, 124 junior cyclists gathered in Waipukurau for the Ultimo CHB 2 Day Junior Tour. Many of these young riders are training for the TeA and CRI Junior Tours next month, followed by the NZ Club Road Nationals in May.
Three HB cyclists had podium finishes. Phoebe Treseder won the U17 girls race after dominating the grueling uphill prologue.
Damien Lysaght was third in the very competitive U17 boys. Sam Thorpe-Loversuch was third in the U15 boys.
Regan Gough was leading the U17 yr boys and was unlucky to have a mechanical failure, and a crash, costing him the tour leader’s jersey. However, he still managed to retain his King of the Mountain jersey.
Other riders featuring in the “Top 10” were; U13 Mitchell Heney, U15 Bradley Christison, U17 Will Green, U19 Logan Bean, U19 Holly Atkins and Amanda Jamieson 4th GC U17 Girls.

Congratulations to all of you, and special thanks to your dedicated support crews.
