Saturday Racing: Sprint Finishes

The committee has discussed at length and in detail the viability of using the full width of the road for sprint finishes.
The cost of application to council for a road closure is prohibitive for a Saturday race – so this is not an option.
The costs of “reduced speed” zones around sprint areas are significant in terms of time, volunteer hours and additional road signage. They would also require council approval filed for each separate finish.
Therefore, under no circumstances will sprint finishes take up the full width of the road and any riders unable to abide by these club rules will automatically be disqualified. Repeat offenders will face the prospect of being stood down for a number of races.
