Te Awa Road Gravel Classic: 3rd September

Central Hawke’s Bay Cycling has its own version of the ‘Paris Roubaeux 16km of gravel.’ All you need is heavy tyres on your road bike as the gravel is mostly smooth.
This is a Handicap race so entries close Wednesday 31st August 2010. There will be NO LATE ENTRIES. Entry Fee is $20.00 per rider
START Out Farm Road Right into Middleton Road 4.8km: Left onto Porangahau Road 12.7km: Out Porangahau, past Wanstead Hotel : Take First left after pub, Hiranui Road 22.2km: Over one lane bridge onto GRAVEL climbing for 2.8km: At 3.1km back onto seal and descend 3.6kmBack onto GRAVEL: At 6.8km left hand turn into Te Awa Road (Don’t go straight ahead): Seal on descent 7.8 to 8.2km: GRAVEL starts again until 15.8km: Then seal until 16.1km GRAVEL ends at 16.8km: Turn left onto Farm Road 40.2km: Right hand bend still on Farm Road at 49.9km: FINISH on Tavistock Road at 56.7km outside Church.
