Inaugural CXHB Race Successful
Approximately 30 riders (including quite a few RCC members) rode the first race on Sunday 26th June. Congratulations to Dan Warren (first Rambler home in A – and winner) and to Fraser MacKenzie (first Rambler home in B – and in second place).
There are three race days left in this series so if you want a bit of fun as a spectator or as a rider, it comes strongly recommended.
Go to the CXHB website http://cxhb.blogspot.com/ to find a write-up of the day, as well as links for each of the 3 races (A, B and Kids) for you to see some very cool pictures taken around EIT – up steps, and through trees, muddy tracks and paddocks!
This was a day with something for everyone... it’s well worth making it out to the Esk Mountain Bike Park on the 24th July – whether you are riding, or whether you just want to be entertained for a couple of hours.
If you have got young children (no entry fee), it’s a safe and fun opportunity for them to get some bike skills away from cars.
The organizers thank RCC for their support.

Park Island’s Future
The Napier City Council is developing a ‘20 year Master Plan’ for the expansion and development of the Park Island Sports Grounds.
NCC invites you to complete a short online questionnaire by the 27th June 2011 by copying and pasting this link into your web-browser www.surveymonkey.com/s/ParkIslandThis is an opportunity to advocate for more off-road cycling for kids and adults such as a Dirt Park, off road access for adults, Cyclocross or an outdoor concrete velodrome. Remember, many of us roadies started on our bikes off-road... this is a way to grow cycling and cycling awareness in the Bay.
If you have any queries regarding the questionnaire or the Park Island Master Plan in general please contact Eunice Creswell Eunice@glgnz.co.nz or David Allan dave@glgnz.co.nz

2011 National Teams Time Trial Championships.
The following information is intended as background to the proposed event and club participation in it.
Cuddon Cycling Marlborough (CCM), Marlborough have temdered a proposal to host this event with a proposed date of Saturday 15 October (a road race is proposed for Sunday 16 October as an added attraction).
Masters riders may also choose to remain in the region as the South Island Masters Games are to be held in Nelson on Labour Weekend (21, 22, 23 October).
CCM has been instrumental in bringing back the team time trial event nationally via its remits through the centre.
Last year CCM's bid to run the inaugural event last year was unsuccessful and the event went to Hamilton.
Hamilton has pulled out and CCM would like the opportunity to make this a successful National event as per their initial proposal.
The event would highlight and promote team time trials in New Zealand and its importance in track racing today.
With the restructuring of many of the road and track National championships over recent times, the team time trials is potentially the only national event an entire club can attend and compete in together.
CCM are requesting club support at the National AGM forum to retain this event.
If you would like RCC representatives to vote in a specific way, please email info@ramblers.co.nz
