Velodrome Update

The news is that the Government has allocated a fund that will go towards a velodrome in the North Island. The next stage for Hawkes Bay’s bid to secure a velodrome is to continue gathering public support to strengthen the case to be put to the Government/SPARC (who decide where in the North Island the velodrome will go).
Over this time we are asking Rambler's Members to become ambassadors for the track and sell the benefits to of having a track in our area, to the public. This of course would include all those local businesses that would get a financial return (for example, motels, petrol stations, fast food outlets and even real-estate agents with people shifting house to be near the track). As well as cycling, the track will also have space available in the centre for ball sports. This is going to be our one and only chance to get a covered velodrome in Hawke's Bay.
If you have questions, please contact Rob Oliver the.hub@airnet.net.nz It has been a lifetime dream of Rob’s to have a track in the Bay. He has seen our club and this area in general produced some of New Zealand's finest riders both on the track and the road and believes the benefits of having a covered velodrome here will be immediate and far-reaching. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for Hawke's Bay and we really need everyone to PLEASE get in behind this project.
